CAD Technician Position
Building Services CAD Technician required to join a progressive HVAC contractor who has fabulous growth plans and specialises in the refurbishment of buildings.
You will be the sole CAD Technician responsible for projects up to 500k. Most work is currently 2D and thus is a must that you have this experience within building services and in particular mechanical services. Working closely with the preconstruction and delivery site teams and working on interesting projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Create technical and highly detailed drawings using AutoCAD 2D 2023 and other software.
Develop various technical drawings, including space planning, building elevations, electrical/mechanical layouts, fire strategy, and more.
Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of M&E designs.
Add architectural details based on building techniques and specifications.
Calculate dimensions and material requirements with precision.
Review and revise drawings to accommodate changes and enhancements.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and local regulations.
Identify and resolve design problems, discrepancies, and errors.
Maintain accurate records of drawings and revisions.
Work within project schedules and deadlines.
Compile data and specification sheets.
Accommodate safety procedures and mitigate foreseen construction issues.
Candidate Requirements and Competencies
2-3 years+ experience with AutoCAD software and familiar with relevant design software and tools.
Knowledge of Building regulations principles and construction methods.
Strong attention to detail and ideally you will possess a creative flare
Ability to work well within a team and independently.
Ideally, experience in the fit-out and/or M&E industry.
Full driving licence.
Desirable certifications: BTEC Certificate or Diploma in Engineering or BCS Certificate in 2D CAD.
Proficient in technical design expertise and British regulations/standards, including Building Control requirements.
Ability to produce clear and informative production drawings and technical information.
Attention to detail with sound knowledge of the discipline.
Confident user of MS Office packages.
Works systematically to meet deadlines and client expectations.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
Positive attitude, open to constructive criticism.
Excellent communication skills (written and spoken English).
Demonstrates confidentiality, integrity, trust, and honesty.
